Debra A. Linsenmeyer is a clinical social worker, social work educator, and human service administrator with over 30 years of professional social work and volunteer experience.   She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Her background includes the provision of direct clinical services to emotionally handicapped children and their families in residential treatment centers, direct practice, supervision, and administration of public child welfare services, classroom instruction in social work, psychology and human services, and interagency social work practice on numerous local boards and advisory committees focusing on community services for children and families.

Currently, Ms. Linsenmeyer is a faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Social Work, where she is the Educational Director of the Child Welfare Academy.  The Child Welfare Academy includes the Title IV-E Education for Public Child Welfare Program, a partnership with the Maryland Department of Human Resources to prepare Bachelor and

Master social work students for social work practice in Maryland’s public child welfare programs and the Child Welfare Training Program, which provides pre-service and in-service training to Maryland’s public child welfare workers, supervisors, and administrators, as well as foster, kinship, and adoptive families. She is particularly interested in outcome evaluation in child welfare, permanency planning strategies, adoption, and child welfare workforce issues.
