Crystal Williams is a doctoral student at the University of Maryland’s Graduate School of Social Work and graduate research assistant at the Ruth H. Young Center for Families and Children.  She is currently supporting research activities on two projects: Truancy Pilot Program Evaluation and Child Custody Evaluation Literature Review.

Crystal’s background experience is in business management, case management, clinical services and life-coaching.  Her practice experience includes working with individuals affected by psychiatric/addictive disorders, HIV/AIDS and families involved with the child welfare system.  She has also provided in-home counseling to families and EAP life-coaching/suicide prevention to individuals experiencing depression.

Crystal’s research interests include mental health, violence (domestic, school, workplace), homelessness (housing, healthcare), policy, quality assurance and management development.  Ms. Williams is a licensed master level social worker and certified school social worker.  She received her BA in Business Administration/Management and MSW from Clark Atlanta University.
