| Bethany Lee, PhD, MSW is an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Social Work where she teaches courses in social work research and child welfare research. Dr. Lee's social work practice experience has focused on youth in out-of-home care, including foster care, group care, and residential treatment. She has worked as a clinician, casemanager, supervisor, administrator and program evaluator. Dr. Lee is currently involved in several research efforts that examine the quality of services provided to youths in public care sectors, i.e. the child welfare system, juvenile justice system, and mental health system. Recent research and publications relate t peer contagion in group care settings, restraint and seclusion in residential treatment, and a comparison of youth outcomes for treatment foster care and group care. Dr. Lee is also interested in the application of advanced quantitative statistical techniques with child welfare data. |
