Ms. Michelle Willis attended the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Salisbury State University where she matriculated with a Bachelor degree in Sociology and Social Work.  She graduated with a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore with a specialization in clinical work with families and children.  Ms. Willis also has earned post graduate certification in Treatment of Children and Adolescents from the UMB SSW Continuing Education Department. Ms. Willis enjoyed working in public sector child welfare with the Prince George’s Department of Social Services as a graduate of the Title IV-E program.  She served as an Academic Coordinator where she assisted in supervising both UMB and UMBC students during their field placements.  Other professional experience includes medical social work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the University of Maryland Medical Center and mental health treatment for families and children at a mental health agency.  Currently she is actively involved with Catholic Charities in Washington, D.C., where she is a consultant assisting with foster care licensure.

Ms. Willis’ professional clinical and training interests are focused on teenage parenting issues, attachment problems in children, the adolescent population and all issues related to foster care and the foster care system.  She has extensive experience training on these issues for Catholic Charities’ Independent Living and Teen Mother’s program and for the Title IV-E program at the University of Maryland.
