Kristen Woodruff is a doctoral student at the University of Maryland's Graduate School of Social Work and works as a graduate research assistant at the Ruth H. Young Center for Families and Children. Ms. Woodruff’s practice experience includes working as a Social Work Assistant and Social Worker in a foster care unit in a private agency in Washington, D.C. She also provided case management and counseling as an intern in a shelter for severely abused girls and in a school-based program for children and youth.
Ms. Woodruff’s research experience includes research assistant positions at University of California Berkeley, Florida International University and Child Welfare League of America (CWLA). During her time at CWLA Ms. Woodruff led the development of the National Data Analysis System and formed the National Working Group to Improve Child Welfare Data (NWG). She conducted numerous national surveys, including topics such as child maltreatment in foster care, placement stability, reunification and adoption. Ms. Woodruff facilitated the NWG, a collaboration of state child welfare agencies, to improve the consistency and quality of national child welfare data. Together they worked with federal representatives, researchers and other child welfare professionals toward this common goal.
Ms. Woodruff is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker in the State of Maryland and received her master's degree from the Florida International University School of Social Work. |
