Adult Services Offerings View Calendar and Register The School of Social Work has partnered with Department of Human Resource’s Community Services Administration to provide quality training for DHR and the local departments of social services. The Training Program utilizes a competency-based approach in developing and delivering training. A competency-based approach to training provides staff with awareness, knowledge, and skills required to perform role-related tasks. The Training Program proposes a total 7 days of Pre-Service Training offered one time per year and twelve days of in-service training during the period dedicated to CSA’s adult services staff. The training will be designed to enhance the work-related knowledge, skills, and competence of the trainees and will be grounded in adult learning principles. CEU’s will be provided at the rate of 6 units per each day of training for individuals who complete a workshop. The Training Program will be conducted by licensed clinical social workers and other licensed professionals with expertise in adult learning. The content areas for the training are relevant to adult services staff and topics for the training will be determined in conjunction with input from local departments of social service and CSA.
