ABSTRACT: The purpose of the proposed project is to evaluate the impact of family facilitation (FF) in child protective services, family preservation, and foster care cases in terms of child safety and permanence among a sample of families involved with Prince George’s County Department of Social Services (DSS). Family facilitation is a process that includes family and community members in decision-making around placement issues. The specific questions involved in this study measure whether involvement in family facilitation impacts rates of recidivism and out of home placement for families served by the child welfare system.
